Safety

THE BASICS

It’s always a good idea to wear warm thick winter clothing when you’re out on the slopes in the snow / frost as well as gloves, arm / knee pads and a helmet! Not only will it keep you nice and toasty, but it will also add an extra layer of protection in case you fall. When on the dunes, it’s likely you won’t have warm winter clothing on, so we advise the use of arm & knee pads and helmets just to be on the safe side!

Axiski Safety

GENERAL HAZARDS

There are lots of potential hazards while out in the snow, frost & sand so here are just a few of the more important ones! Make sure your path is clear, and avoid things such as fences, large rocks, roads and large bumps. Be aware of others in front and behind you at all times Even though it’s probably going to be quite warm on the sandy dunes, we always suggest you wear comfortable shoes while on your Axiski.

SOME GENERAL GOOD ADVICE

Be sure to wear warm, comfortable footwear while you’re ski-boarding on snow and frosty grass! Wouldn’t want your socks getting wet!

When on sand, it’s advisable to wear comfortable shoes. We wear converse as they're super light and give your feet a good airing!

When on the dunes, it’s likely you won’t have warm winter clothing on, so we advise the use of arm & knee pads and helmets just to be on the safe side!

It's also worth mentioning that if you're ski-boarding on some sand, it's more than likely that the sun is out, so do yourself a favour and splash on some sun cream.

TURNING WHEN SITTING

Unlike others, we do not suggest you drag your hands on the ground for steering purposes while you’re at speed! We would suggest that while sitting / lying that you have a straight run ahead of you free from any obstacles.

We also suggest that when you’re lying and sitting, keep your arms and hands as close to your body as possible while holding onto to the rope.

When on the dunes, it’s likely you won’t have warm winter clothing on, so we advise the use of arm & knee pads and helmets just to be on the safe side!
